Instructions To Tree Designers

Tree Set Up Day Monday, November 19th, 2018

Important Instructions

  • Doors open at 9:00 am and close at 8:00 pm
  • Football players will be available to help you unload at the east entrance on Washington Blvd.
  • Free parking nearby. Paid parking is available on the parking deck on Kiesel Ave.
  • Check-in at the registration table immediately when you arrive.
  • Receipts are important for your personal tax records and to report cost of supplies to the foundation.
  • Trees will be capped at $1,500 this year. Please take this into consideration as you are designing and making purchases for your tree.
  • Best Sellers-- All Christmas and winter themes, all colors associated with Christmas both traditional and trendy.
  • Difficult to Sell: Non-Christmas themes and colors, unusual or trendy themes, “in memory of” trees that do not have a Christmas theme are very tough to sell as well as sparsely decorated trees.
  • New artificial trees only. Any height between 3 and 12 feet.
  • Once assembled your tree must fit through a standard doorway.
  • Used trees of any kind or from previous events may not be donated. However, we can help recycle previously used decorations.
  • Lights. New lights only. No more than 3 strands connected together. Pre-lit trees are to code. Do not add lights to pre-lit trees. Attach replacement bulbs and fuses to your tree skirt.
  • Decorations must be glued and or wired securely to the tree as appropriate. Nothing should fall off when the tree is moved. We discourage ornaments that break easily.
  • Provided by you: tree, lights, ornaments, tree skirt, heavy 6-9 foot extension cord, tree stand.
  • Display items and gift certificates are optional. Everything under, around or attached to the tree will be sold with the tree. Please do not attach originals to the tree. Turn them in at the check in desk.
  • Tree stand that is heavy metal non-collapsible, non-bendable is required. We will provide a tree stand if your stand does not meet our requirements.
  • Provided by us: Tree bags, they are required for all trees. It must be placed around the base of your tree BEFORE you decorate and set up. It goes under the tree skirt and is attached above the stand and below the bottom row of branches. Tree bags can be picked up at the registration desk and a volunteer tree doctor will assist you with this process.
  • Be Prepared! Wire cutters, glue gun with extension cord, glue sticks, other glue, clear tape, scissors, pliers, step ladder and anything else you will need.
