Christmas Tree Jubilee

Merry Christmas

Thank you for your participation in this year's Christmas Tree Jubilee!

The week of Thanksgiving is a wonderful time; a time to be with family and friends, a time to reflect on what we have, and a time to give thanks and share with others our good fortune.  There is nowhere that these values are more evident than at the Christmas Tree Jubilee each year.

On November 23rd, Christmas was in the air, as volunteers arrived early to set up for the week of Jubilee.  By mid-morning, hundreds of volunteers representing local businesses, nonprofits, or simply families in the spirit of giving arrived to decorate their donated trees.  Nearly one hundred trees and wreaths decked the halls of the Ogden Eccles Conference Center and the magic of the Jubilee began.

The most wonderful time of the year resumed on Tuesday evening with nine hundred guests attending the gala dinner. The giving was sustained as guests bid on three hundred silent auction items, purchased trees, raffle tickets, live auction items and gave generous donations to our playground project.

The week continued through Friday and was filled with the hustle and bustle of children’s laughter. Families adored the decorations and the glow of the Christmas trees. Children from throughout the district filled the stage and performed joyful Christmas music. Family fun night was bursting with festivities, crafts and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The event was wrapped up with care on Saturday morning.  Hundreds of volunteers came to wrap and load the trees for delivery. Santa’s sleigh was unavailable for delivery, but sixteen large trucks with volunteer drivers delivered the trees, bringing glad tidings and joy to many homes and businesses in our community.

This is a time of celebration! Christmas only comes once a year, but your generosity will preserve the spirit of giving throughout the year. This month alone the Weber School District Foundation has funded class grants to enhance education for students at Roosevelt, Majestic, North Park, and Bates Elementary Schools.  School grants were provided to Valley View Elementary for an audio system and Sandridge Junior High School for a Chromebook Lab!  Special needs adaptive equipment for individual students this month included an adaptive tricycle, a customized medical stroller and a ceiling mounted lift with track system….and don’t forget that your generosity will help us build two more All-Abilities Playgrounds!

Thank you for the generous donation you made to the Weber School Foundation during the Christmas Tree Jubilee. The Jubilee was a huge success this year and would not be possible without generous sponsors, donors and volunteers.  You make this happen!

May you realize the joy you bring to children?

Best Holiday Wishes!
