Once again, Christmas Tree Jubilee 2016 was an incredible success thanks to our amazing community. Over a one week period, hundreds of volunteers and thousands of donors came together to benefit children in Weber County.
On Monday, more than 300 volunteers and tree donors filled the Eccles Conference Center, transforming an empty building into a celebration of the season, complete with nearly 100 trees and wreaths, a ballroom full of live auction items, raffle gifts and beautifully decorated dinner tables, all coming together as we readied for our grand gala event. On Tuesday, 900 guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner and purchased over 250 silent auction baskets that had been donated by schools, PTA’s, and local businesses. Those same guests donated $50,000 for our live auction items and pledged another $120,000 towards our All-Abilities Playground Project.
The next several days were filled with Christmas joy as thousands of guests viewed and purchased the beautiful trees that had been donated, while enjoying our amazing students as they entertained the crowds. The week concluded with Weber and Ogden School District employees, Weber School Foundation Board Members, and other community and school groups volunteering to bring joy to homes from Willard to Salt Lake City as they delivered Christmas trees.
Every individual part of the Christmas Tree Jubilee is vital to our success. From a local vendor donating a gift for our silent auction, to a family or business decorating, donating, or purchasing one of our beautiful Christmas trees, to the many guests who purchase tables to our gala, we thank each one of you. Without any of your efforts, we would not succeed. Thank you for being part of our success in bringing support to all of our students, especially those with special needs.
