Free monthly books are now available to children from birth through age five across Weber County.

OGDEN, Utah — September 25, 2026 — A new chapter in early childhood literacy has arrived in Weber County. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is now open for enrollment, giving local children from birth through age five the opportunity to receive a free, age-appropriate book delivered to their home every month until their fifth birthday.

The program is being brought to Weber County through a partnership between the Ogden School Foundation, Weber School Foundation, and Operation Literacy.

The launch on September 25—9/25—makes for a fitting date to celebrate a program centered on young readers, big imaginations, and the joy of books.

Building a love of reading, one book at a time

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, enrolled children receive a carefully selected book each month at no cost to their families. Over time, those monthly deliveries help children build their own home libraries while creating opportunities for parents, caregivers, and children to read and explore together.

The program is designed to help children develop a love of books and reading long before they walk through the doors of kindergarten.

“We’re excited to bring this opportunity to families throughout Weber County,” said Brynn Murdock, Ogden School Foundation director. “Every book delivered is another opportunity for a child and their family to read together, build a connection, and discover the joy of reading.”

Emily Oyler, Weber School Foundation director, added, “Early literacy begins at home, and we’re thrilled to partner with Operation Literacy and the Ogden School Foundation to help put more books into the hands of Weber County’s youngest readers.”

Who can participate?

Children from birth through age five who live in an eligible Weber County ZIP code can be enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

A new chapter for Weber County

The Ogden School Foundation and Weber School Foundation are proud to partner with Operation Literacy to expand access to books and support early childhood literacy throughout the community.

The launch represents more than the arrival of a monthly book in the mailbox. It is an invitation for families to make reading part of everyday life—and for the community to invest in its youngest learners.

Little readers. Big dreams. Books in the mailbox.

Weber County’s next generation of readers is ready to turn the page.

Happy reading!
